Leur principal atout r\u00e9side dans la vanne unique \u00e0 rotation continue, qui remplace plusieurs vannes \u00e0 clapet classiques et divise le lit cylindrique de stockage de chaleur en plusieurs secteurs ind\u00e9pendants.<\/p>\n<p>Lors de la rotation, chaque secteur remplit successivement trois fonctions\u00a0: pr\u00e9chauffage du gaz pollu\u00e9 entrant, stockage de l\u2019\u00e9nergie thermique du gaz purifi\u00e9 et purge. Ce mouvement rotatif continu assure des transitions fluides entre les phases de fonctionnement et \u00e9limine les fluctuations de pression typiques des vannes de commutation traditionnelles.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le syst\u00e8me repr\u00e9sent\u00e9, le gaz pollu\u00e9 p\u00e9n\u00e8tre \u00e0 25 \u00b0C avec un d\u00e9bit de 100 kNm\u00b3\/h. Il traverse des secteurs en c\u00e9ramique chaude pour le pr\u00e9chauffage avant d'atteindre la chambre de combustion, o\u00f9 l'oxydation a lieu \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature. Apr\u00e8s traitement, 30 kNm\u00b3\/h de gaz purifi\u00e9 sont \u00e9vacu\u00e9s \u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature \u2265 950 \u00b0C et peuvent \u00eatre dirig\u00e9s vers une chaudi\u00e8re de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration de chaleur et un groupe turbo-alternateur pour la valorisation \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique. Les 70 kNm\u00b3\/h restants c\u00e8dent leur chaleur \u00e0 des couches de c\u00e9ramique plus froides avant d'\u00eatre rejet\u00e9s \u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 30 \u00b0C. Un faible flux de gaz purifi\u00e9 est utilis\u00e9 pour la purge afin de pr\u00e9venir les fuites, tandis que des joints sp\u00e9cifiques garantissent l'\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9.
